What we went to was called "The SHE Event": Safe, Healthy, & Empowered- A special mother, daughter and friends event. There were women of all ages...tiny babies through great grammies. You could just see the estrogen flowing! :+)
Both women (Rebecca and Evie) were very dynamic. I was especially moved my Rebecca St. James and her call to purity and modesty for all single women and girls. Since there were so many young girls there, I pray that they were moved, too. At one point, they turned the lights on and opened up the floor for a Q&A session. One mother in particular expressed her graditude for Rebecca being such a great role model for girls and asked her to address the "Hannah Montana" craze. For those of you living on planet Mars (or maybe you don't have younger girls), Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus is the daughter of country music star Billy Ray Cyrus. Rebecca's first words were "Pray for her. Pray for her. Pray for her. She needs massive prayer". She then went on to say that the Cyrus family attends the same church that her family does in Nashville and so she does know the family to be "dedicated believers who love the Lord" but that Miley in an industry that is full of lies and deceit...Satan's forte. She also said that often times, Miley feels very lonely because there aren't many children her age that can relate to her level of stardom. I imagine she has a hard time leaving her house with much peace and quiet.
So, I encourage you, with your Hannah Montana crazed daughters, to pray for this precious young soul together. And lift her up so that she "may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil" Ephesians 6:11.
I would have LOVED to take Madison and my mom with me, but since today is our anniversary my (very patient) parents took all 5 of our kiddos camping for the night! They did have a little help from my brother and sister-in-law who are expecting their first child in November. I'm sure they are thinking "what have we gotten ourselves into!!!" Thank you, thank you, thank you Mom, Dad, Jeremy & Sarah! I can't tell you how calm and peaceful the house in this morning!
SO.....
Happy Anniversary, Honey! We've been so richly blessed by the Lord in our lives and I thank Him every morning for you. Though we've had trials and tribulations and everything hasn't always been perfect, we have stood together against Satan and found our strength together in the Lord. Thank you for being a living example of 1 Corinthians 13:4-8...
"Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth..."
I love you!
